Blueair Blue Pure 211i Max UK Review (2026): The Large-Room HEPASilent Pick
Updated: October 2026 · Large-room coverage · Prices checked 21 Oct 2026
CADR and Room Coverage
The 211i Max reports CADR at 410 CFM (AHAM-equivalent, converted to 697 m³/h at ×1.699). This is the highest single-unit CADR in the PurifierBeast UK dataset. At 3 air changes per hour — the standard used in HEPA efficacy studies — the coverage calculation is:
Coverage at 3 ACH:
697 m³/h ÷ 3 ÷ 2.4 m ceiling = 97 m²
At 2 ACH (the minimum for basic air quality improvement): 145 m². At 1 ACH (the figure many manufacturers use): 290 m².
We use 3 ACH throughout this site because it is the standard in HEPA filtration studies and reflects meaningful air cleaning rather than single-pass coverage.
HEPASilent: The Important Caveat
Blueair's electrostatic approach pre-charges particles before they reach the filter, allowing lower-density mechanical media that reduces airflow resistance — enabling the same volume of air at lower fan speed (and therefore lower noise). At 23 dB sleep mode, the 211i Max is 8 dB quieter than the 211+ Auto it replaces.

Single Unit vs Two Levoit Core 400S: The Honest Comparison
| Option | Combined CADR | Covers (3 ACH) | Sleep noise | 3-yr total |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1× Blueair 211i Max (this model) | 697 m³/h | 97 m² | 23 dB | £656.38 |
| 2× Levoit Core 400S | 748 m³/h combined | Up to 50 m²* | ~27 dB combined | £727.14 |
*Two units in the same room do not double effective coverage — placement matters. See the large room guide for the full analysis. 3-yr TCO at Ofgem 24.5p/kWh, 12 h/day.
The 211i Max is £70.76 cheaper over 3 years than two Core 400S units, while providing 97 m² single-unit coverage. The trade-off: no redundancy, one socket, less CADR for a two-zone open-plan space. For a single large room, the 211i Max is the cleaner solution at a lower 3-year cost.
Verdict: Who Should Buy the Blueair Blue Pure 211i Max
Buy the 211i Max if: you have a single large UK room (up to 30 m² at 3 ACH is a realistic target; 97 m² is the theoretical maximum), you want single-unit simplicity, and you understand that HEPASilent is not EN 1822 certified. At 23 dB sleep mode, it is considerably quieter than most large-room units.
Do not buy the 211i Max if: you need EN 1822 certified H13 HEPA filtration (choose the Philips 3200 AC3220 or the new Philips 2200 AC2220 instead), or if you have a genuinely large open-plan space that would benefit more from two strategically placed mid-size units.
